Core Values

We value god

Jesus said,  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind…"(Lk. 10:27), therefore, we value God and we love Him!

Therefore, we believe God and we embrace His Word as the only written inspired, and authoritative rule of faith and conduct (2 Tim. 3:16). We live according the Word of God.

We value FAMILY

The second part of Luke 10:27 states, "Love your neighbor as yourself." Paul also reminds us of the importance of taking care of our own families, the neglect of which is equivalent to infidelity (1 Tim. 5:8). Therefore, we value the family that God gives us.

And inasmuch as the Church is called as the Household of Faith, we value people, putting priority on the people of faith (Gal. 6:10; Eph. 2:19).

We value INTEGRITY.

God said to the young king Solomon, "…If you walk before me in the integrity of heart and uprightness…and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne…" (1 Kings 9:4-5). God also values the integrity of Job's heart (Job 2:3). Job declared that he will not deny his integrity till he dies (Job 27:5).

Therefore we value integrity before God and before man. This integrity will protect and guide us (Psalm 25:21; Proverbs 11:3). It will also bring blessing to our children (Pro. 20:7).

As such, we value trust and loyalty. We trust God and we are loyal to Him. These are also expressed by making sure that we are trustworthy and we give loyalty to one another in the bond of love.

We value HOLINESS.

God repeatedly commanded us to be holy, even as He is holy (Lev. 11:44-45, 64; 19:2, 4; 20:7, 26; 21:8; 1 Peter 1:16). Therefore, we value holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

The origin, basis and model of this holiness is not man but God alone. Consequently we value moral purity and will endeavor to live by the standards set forth in the Word of God (1 Tim. 4:12; 5:2).

We value ACCOUNTABILITY

Jesus is very clear about the fact that there is going to be a day when everyone will give an account of his life (Mat. 12:36). Paul repeated this in Romans 14:12. Because of this we value accountability, not only to God but towards one another.

This accountability demands that we bear one another's burden (Gal. 6:2) and we hold one another accountable over his/her life and commitment to this Body. Paul and the New Testament Church repeatedly demonstrate this kind of two-way accountability.

Because we value accountability, we value openness to one another. We value commitment to one another, to the mission and vision of this Church. We value time and the stewardship thereof, including but not limited to our resources, personal skills and talents in service to God and one another.

We value commitment. We believe that commitment to our agreed upon and accepted core values is necessary for us to keep on standing. Without commitment to these we can fall apart. Commitment, in spite of our struggles is what sets us apart.

We value MISSIONS

Otherwise known as the Great Commission, Jesus commanded His disciples saying,

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you...” (Matthew 28:19-20; cf. Mark 16:15)

Therefore we value missions. Jesus said,

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8)

Therefore we support, facilitate and conduct missions both domestic and foreign.

In as much as the spreading of the gospel is very well hinged upon the sending of the bearers of the Word,

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? (Rom.10:14,15)

We value teaching, equipping, strengthening and sending out believers into their respective mission field. Like the prophet Isaiah volunteering himself to be sent by God,

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)

We value making our resources available in doing missions work. We also value facilitating and conducting evangelistic, discipleship, as well as mission-support activities, in order to provide venues and opportunities for everyone to volunteer and get involved in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Everybody in the church is involved in missions. Our children collect coins for missions and sells lunchbox for missions. Our youth do car washes for missions. 100% of the proceeds go to missions. All year round, we collect and receive donations of gently used clothing and accessories; medicines, medical supplies and equipment; books and school supplies. These goods, are then packed in big boxes and shipped to the Philippines and are then distributed to pastors, church workers and their families; to the poor and needs; and to victims of natural calamities. Twice a year, we have a mission team from the church that goes to the Philippines to conduct leadership and training seminars for the pastors and church workers, 100% free of charge. We also conduct medical and dental missions and during school openings, distribute free notebooks to public school children, books and educational materials to schools.  We encourage our members that when they go back to the Philippines for a vacation, to time it during our mission trips, so they can personally do missions work there. Aside from these, we financially support different ministries. As God continues to prosper Lion’s Heart and it’s people,  we hope to do more things for missions! We are praying and hoping to build a Training and “Blessing Center” in the Philippines, and even someday, a seminary or even a university – God willing!
